ACTS 17: 24-28
ACTS 17: 26-27 “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.”
Many of our friends and family are now living in different parts of the continent. We were “called” to Johannesburg over eight years ago. I knew God had moved us here for a purpose. I was so homesick and missed my family and friends terribly. At times it felt like an actual physical pining and longing for my home that I had known for 49 years.
Life here was so different. Johannesburg was vibrant, busy and cosmopolitan. People led hectic lives and getting to make new friends took a long time. During one of my days of feeling homesick, God led me to this passage. It gave me so much comfort to know that He had placed me here and had a purpose and plan for my life. I wasn’t here because of the situation back home but because He wanted me to be in this country at this time and in this season.
I now love living here and have made some good friends and founded The Sanctuary Soul Care Centre. How much easier would life be if we trusted in God and in where He places us? Some are called to go, and others are called to stay. He has us right where He knows is the best for us and where we can make a difference no matter how difficult it may seem at the time.
Lord thank you that you have marked out our times and boundaries, that you have us exactly where you want us. Help us to see your hand in our lives and to trust you always.
