ROOTED IN CHRIST

PSALM 1
Psalm1: 3 “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”

In this psalm the writer depicts a man who delights and meditates on God’s word day and night. Because of this, the psalmist portrays the man to be like a tree planted in streams of living water. This man produces fruit in season, his leaf never withers and he prospers.

When I am overwhelmed with circumstances that life throws at me I love to read this psalm. I go to God’s word and read His many promises and I allow those promises to infiltrate and fill my mind. When I am rooted so deeply in Christ and His love and presence then I continue to bear fruit no matter what the season. I do not get weary and I still flourish despite the trials and tribulations. Is it always easy? No! But God is there to remind us that He cares. He wants us to prosper in body, soul and spirit. Are you rooted in Christ, His Holy Spirit and His word? Do you want to bear fruit and prosper?

Lord help me to be firmly planted in you always so that I may bear fruit for you and your kingdom.

Amen
